Su nombre artístico se formó a partir de los nombres de la actriz Marilyn Monroe y del convicto Charles Manson.

"Seven Nation Army" es una canción rock lanzada en el año 2003 por la banda de rock alternativo estadounidense The White Stripes y escrita por Jack White. Es la primera canción del álbum Elephant.
Fue lanzado como un sencillo y ganó el premio Grammy a mejor canción rock en el año 2004 y fue también nominada a mejor desempeño de rock por un dúo o grupo con vocalista.
En marzo de 2005, Q Magazine colocó a "Seven Nation Army" en el número 8 de su lista de las 100 mejores canciones de guitarra (Greatest Guitar Tracks).

La revista Rolling Stone la colocó en el puesto número 2 de las mejores canciones del siglo XXI.

The White Stripes

The White Stripes fue una banda estadounidense de rock alternativo, también algunas veces mencionado dentro del movimiento garage Rock. Se formó en 1997 en Detroit, Míchigan por la pareja compuesta por John Anthony Gillis, más tarde como Jack White (voz, guitarra, bajo, piano) y Meg White (batería, voz).Después de publicar sus primeras canciones y grabar dos álbumes de estudio, formaron parte del resurgimiento del garage rock de los años '60, caracterizado por su baja fidelidad de sonido y sus composiciones y arreglos simples inspirados principalmente por el punk rock, el blues rock, el folk rock4 y la música country.
